Frequently Asked Questions

Clear Skies Helps Clear It Up!

Course of treatment is decided by the individual/family and therapist, rather than by insurance companies or the government.  The services are self-pay. We provide documentation needed to bill insurance companies.

How long will treatment take?

The length of time for treatment varies depending on the situation and the specific challenge being experienced. A person will see positive changes within the first three sessions. The client, the guardian, and the therapist will meet following the third session to assess for changes. If positive changes have not occurred the therapist will help the client find another therapist who may be a better fit. A long course of treatment with Clear Skies Counseling, LLC is 6 months. If significant progress has not been made at the end of 6 months of consistent therapy the therapist will help the client find another therapist who may be a better fit for the client.

How will I know that treatment is no longer necessary?

At Clear Skies Counseling, LLC we believe the course of treatment will never be any longer than is absolutely necessary. The client’s progress is measured and charted so clients and guardians know exactly where the client is in the change process. The therapist will regularly communicate progress towards goals with clients and guardians. The therapist will create the specific discharge plan with the client and guardians.

Will I know what is going on during my child’s therapy sessions?

It is very important to us at Clear Skies Counseling that guardians be informed of the progress their youth is making in treatment. This is always balanced with the need for confidentiality in the therapeutic process. Caregivers are vitally important in the change process. At Clear Skies Counseling, LLC we strongly believe the clients do better and have shorter courses of treatment when parents and guardians are an integral part of the treatment process.

As a parent/guardian will I receive support in helping my child?

Parents and guardians have the opportunity to speak with the therapist prior to and after each session. Part of the services Clear Skies Counseling, LLC provides is family therapy and ongoing consultations with parents/guardians. The therapist will provide clinical insights concerning the client’s behaviors and emotional needs. The therapist will work with the parents as a team to create effective strategies which best support the youth.
